Inspiration Stitch  Expression

Visualise an Exhibition by ISE Textile Group

This exhibition of textiles and mixed media work has been created by the ISE textile group of thirteen artists.  It is one of the first to be shown at the currently being refurbished Delapré Abbey in Northampton.  ISE (Inspiration for Stitch and Expression) was formed several years ago, by like-minded artists who enjoy creating diverse work with stitch as the common thread.

Wendy Davies, Sarah Donnelly, Jude Flanagan, Sandra Jenkins, Sheila Jones, Karin Kirk, Sue Latimer, Judith Laundon, Dora Mack, Mary Martin, Jean Paling, Alison Ranson and Alyssa Robinson meet regularly in Welford, Northamptonshire. Our aim is to promote creativity with rigorous discipline, underpinned by knowledge of textiles worldwide.

On display are abstract, realistic and figurative art and fashion accessories using a wide variety of media: wire, paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled) and found objects: these are hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment.

Venue: Delapré Abbey, London Road, Northampton, NN4 8AW.

Exhibition is the 18th century Stable Block accessed via the Shop.

Please note the Abbey is not open to the public, except for access to the exhibition, shop, café and grounds.

Date:     Friday 13th – Sunday 29th October 2017

Opening Times:  11am – 3pm, closed Thursdays, free admission to exhibition
