On Saturday 29th November Christmas came early to the Lincolnshire Branch of the Embroiderers Guild. Members were given a Christmas activity pack of festive medieval angels. The angels designed by branch chair Bronwyn Fleming are based on the medieval carvings in Lincoln Cathedral, members could choose from two designs King David playing his harp and an angel playing a flute and drum. Members were given the basic materials white glitter felt, silver, white and gold threads, sequins and beads and are able to interpret the design in any way they choose. As well as being a lovely embroidered Christmas decoration we hope to make a display of the angels at our exhibition in the Cathedral later next year. Members were also able to work on their own Medieval Legacy textile work, their own projects, work with the branch die cutter or cord maker.
After a pleasant, sociable morning chatting and stitching we shared a veritable feast of dishes from around the world for our lunch.
