We have a very busy year ahead at Lincolnshire Embroiderers Guild, we are holding an exhibition from 30th June to 7th July at Lincoln Cathedral entitled 'Medieval legacy' to co-inside with the Magna Carta celebrations in the city. We are creating a group embroidery to celebrate the Magna Carta and a number of our branch meetings and workshops this year are dedicated to creating work to display at the exhibition. We now have 73 members and hope that we can but on an exciting exhibition in the beautiful Cathedral Chapter House.
Last Saturday branch member Brenda Scarman lead a super whole day workshop on Medieval Lettering in Goldwork, which members thoroughly enjoyed. Suitable for all levels of expertise members could adapt Brenda's designs to create their own mini masterpiece. Although none were finished on the day we are looking forward to seeing the results at our next meeting.
