Our Branch Banner
We are a friendly group of like minded individuals interested in textile art in all its forms. Our Programmes are planned to include a variety of speakers, workshops, outings and social events. We usually meet on the 4th Thursday of every month except December when we have a Christmas Social at an earlier date (see our Programme). Our July meeting is linked with an afternoon workshop followed by an evening BBQ to which family and friends may be invited. Please contact us for further details - we are always happy to chat!

Our 2016 Group Project
Leading up to our Splendour of Stitch Exhibition 45 members volunteered to take part in a mystery project - the subject was kept secret until the embroidery was completed and unveiled at our Exhibition! There is a story behind the project.........
The coastline of Scapa Flow is ringed with the remnants of artillery batteries. Many of the steel reinforcements and support beams are heavily corroded and these were photographed by a local man, David Hunter, who kindly gave his permission for us to use his photo ' Earth on Fire'.
The original photo was enlarged and postcard sized images given to members who could then decide how to interpret their section of the work. Our members produced beautiful textural pieces which were stitched together by Ann and Wendy and displayed alongside the original photo. These can be seen in our Splendour of Stitch 2016 Album.
