January 21st              Margaret Gosley                 'Embroidered Scrolls'


Margaret will explain how they came about and reveal her fascination with words in textile work.



Members table. This year in each month the work displayed will have a predominant colour.
In January the colour is white. 


          

                                  February 18th              Ninya Mikhaila                    'Fit for a Queen'

Ninya will describe researching and reconstructing the sixteenth century clothing of Catherine Parr the   sixth wife of Henry VIII. The clothes will be modelled. 
Ninya is much in demand producing garments for use in television.

  March 18th                 Mary Hart                'Textile Travels in Vietnam and Cambodia'

   Mary and Jasper Hart have met tribeswomen, who harvested hemp to make into linen for weaving,    dyeing, printing and stitching. A wealth of pictures, samples and textile work will be shared.

April 15th                    Susan Sheldon         'Easter Saturday Hands on Session'
                                
 
A workshop looking at some traditional stitches.

   The journey from animal husbandry of rare-breed sheep to finished designer works
   will be explained.

  June 17th                      Gilli Theokritoff                   ' The David Quilt'


 Gilli will share her secrets of how this quilt was made and give us a glimpse into her new  works.

    July 22nd                        Lynda Hill                    'Linus Quilts'

   A group of patchworkers make quilts for parents whose children are terminally ill to provide
   colourful cheer for all affected.

October 21st                     Alison Larkin                'Opus Anglicanum' 

   
Alison, a speaker at the Regional Day 2016 will give an insight into the splendour of the
medieval embroidery of Opus Anglicanum.
