                                              FCW is a social enterprise which trains prisoners in paid, skilled, creative needlework,                                                      undertaken in the long hours spent in their cells, to foster hope, discipline and self-esteem.

    a talk by an artist for artists, embroiderers and quilters. Sometimes sketches are just like        snapshots, sometimes jottings; all aim to capture a scene, an object or just a moment and     may become idea for further work.

               July 23th 2016     Margaret Gosley     Embroidered Scrolls.

              How Margaret’s scrolls came about and her interest in putting words into textiles.

             Cancelled due to illness. 

        Instead there will be a mini-workshop on Ribbon Embroidery. You will need to bring your basic            sewing kit and a 6" to 8" embroidery frame - all other materials and a chenille needle will be                provided.

        Please note this is the fourth Saturday in the month not the third.

No Meeting in August

September 17th 2016      Annual General Meeting with a Vintage Cream Tea and Stitch afternoon 

                                              Members and visitors should bring basic sewing equipment and maybe a small embroidery                                               ring. Hankies printed with embroidery designs from the 1930's and threads will be                                                          provided.
                                              The  short AGM will be followed by a cream scone and tea or coffee whilst we sit and sew                                                  and chat.

                                              Bring your finished birds for our display.

October 15th 2016           Hanny Newton "Embroidery - My Story So Far" 
                                              Hanny is a young lady setting out on her career after studying Hand Embroidery at the                                                  Royal School of Needlework and Contemporary Craft at Falmouth University. She was                                                      selected for the Embroiderers' Guild Graduate Showcase 2014 and has since exhibited                                                      Nationally.

November 19th 2016        Alysn Midgelow-Marsden -"Down Under and Left a Bit" 
                                               Alysn is an internationally known Textile Artist, in the UK for a few weeks only from her                                                   home in New Zealand.  She promises to be amusing and keep us awake following our                                                       Christmas Lunch. Learn some Maori and New Zealand phrases!
