We are now full.  You are welcome to leave your name with us in case anyone has to drop out. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

The tutors for 2017 are Julie Willoughby, Nicola Jarvis and Jan Dowson, details of the individual workshops are on the right of the page, the cost for this year is £305 for residential or £215 for non residential.  The booking form is available at the foot of the page.

Summer School is open to stitchers of all abilities, whether you are a complete beginner or have been stitching for more years than you care to remember.

Scalford Hall was chosen because it is almost the central point of our widespread region and is one of the few places where all our activities can take place under one roof. The previous two venues had separate eating & sleeping accommodation, ok when the weather's fine but not when it rains!  Added to that it is a nice Country House set in lovely surroundings with excellent food.  We offer approximately 16 hours of tuition starting on the Friday evening through to mid afternoon on Sunday.

Above all Summer School is a place to meet like-minded people in friendly and comfortable surrounding giving you the opportunity to work on developing your stitching techniques for a whole weekend.

I hope this gives you a better understanding of Summer school but if you have any further questions please email Hilary or myself.

Please see right for the details of their workshops. Clicking on their names will take you to their websites.

Learn to make a textile collage with guidance from Jan. Working from memories of family, a special place you have visited, or a collection of small objects, you will learn how to make a collage, attach the fabrics to the foundation, traditional finger turned appliqué for a flower or bird.  Also, simple on-lay appliqué to create a naïve and aged look, embellished with hand embroidery stitches.  We can also look at how some traditional patchwork techniques can also be incorporated.
