Doors Open 10.0am - Welcome at 11.00am
Afternoon Lecture 2.30 pm
For the last few years we have held our Regional Day at The Becket School, West Bridgford, Nottingham; this is a venue central to the Region providing good space and on-site Parking.
We are for the first time in 2017 able to utilize the whole of the Atrium in the Becket School, and so are planning to expand the variety of Traders, Demonstrations and Stalls.
A few more members have volunteered to offer Taster Sessions with a range of techniques during the lunch hour; so more to see and do than last year.
The Madeira Lecture in the afternoon at 2.30 by Cathryn Walton
should throw an interesting insight into the Lives of the Women who produced the amazing Leek Embroidery.
Also see our News post about an Embroidery Walk with Cathryn the following week.
Competition: Inspired by Leek Embroidery - to be received by 10.30 on the dayInspiration for the this Competition, written by Carolyn Merry has already been circulated to Branches, or can be viewed by clicking on the above title.
Our new sponsors - Aurifil - will be providing 3 prizes, with one for YE entries as well. This year we have also found Exhibition space in Leek and the Competition entries will be there for 7 weeks. Fuller details of the Exhibition can be viewed at: Leek Exhibition

Morning Only Tickets are £5.50 - these would give access to Traders etc.; whilst it is also possible to have tickets for the Lecture only at £7.50, bearing in mind that the Traders, Demonstrators & Stall holders do tend to pack away just after lunchtime.

Sonia Clayton, beloved friend, fellow embroiderer and recent Regional Treasurer, died on New Years Day, 2017. It was her wish that her sewing things be sold and the money raised sent to Hayward House Hospice where she spent 5 weeks or so just before she died. Her embroidery and sewing materials are to be sold at EM Regional Day to raise money for Hayward House Hospice.
