Christmas Celebrations 2014

CHRISTMAS TREES

We decorated a tree with white Christmas Roses at St Oswald's Church in Ashbourne as part of the Christmas celebrations and to represent the branch.

St Oswald's church with its impressive spire.

We used the same template for the flowers as the red poppies for the national day of stitch activity in the library.

The Ashbourne Branch tree

Although we all started with the same basic pieces a great variety of beautiful flowers were decorated. The white background unified the display.

Our December meeting

Our in house meeting in December always includes an activity followed by a sumptuous feast brought by members.

Jan organised a quiz for us

The winning design was a cross between the Remembrance poppies and Christmas roses.

The activity was to decorate a napkin ring.

Finished napkin rings. We select our favourites by placing coins and the one with most coins is the winner. The money goes to a local charity.
