Nicola Jarvis Bijoux Robin Workshop

Using one Nicola's kits we learnt different ways of applying beads. We created a small floral and bird motif that we embellished with a range of bejewelled techniques. These techniques could be developed for a variety of fashion applications; such as buttons, brooches, embellished placements for cardigans, sweaters and tee-shirts, with sequin work, bead work and gold work techniques on painted surfaces like Vilene and organza that could then be attached to garments/bags/hats/etc.

In 1991 Nicola trained as a professional hand embroiderer at the Royal School of Needlework and developed a teaching career there. Between 1998 and 2004 she used her design and embroidery knowledge in a freelance capacity to produce embellishments for the British fashion industry.

This workshop will count as one of the Kickstart Workshops.
